About IPL

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments are a type of cosmetic procedure that uses lasers to improve the appearance of the skin as well as increase collagen production in the skin to help slow the aging process.. Laser treatments can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including acne scarring, brown spots, redness and capillaries, rosacea, sun damaged skin, tone and texture, and decreased pore size.

Laser treatments work by targeting specific areas of the skin with short bursts of intense light. This light energy is then absorbed by the specific target, which causes the selective target to heat, causing unwanted pigmented and vascular lesions to break down and triggering a natural healing process which increases the body’s own production of collagen.

The IPL is flashed on targeted areas. You will feel a sensation like a rubber band snap on your skin. During the next 24 to 48 hours, the treated area will darken. Within a week, the treated skin will flake off, revealing your new skin. Your skin’s new appearance will be a glowing, even-toned complexion.

There is little to no downtime with this procedure. Most procedures take 30-60 minutes. Results are best maintained by doing 2-3 treatments per year.
